School Coordinator at Jönköping Municipality

Your new job

As a school coordinator, you will work closely with the child, guardians, and the responsible social worker. You will focus on the child's education and support the social worker in coordinating and following up on the child's schooling, becoming an important link between social services, schools, and the child's network - always with the child's best interests at heart.

Your role includes:

  • Ensuring that the child's rights under the Education Act are met, e.g., special support, additional adjustments, action plans, as well as follow-up and evaluation.
  • Providing support to social workers based on your expertise in educational matters.
  • Mapping the child's previous schooling by collecting and analyzing documentation to gain a better understanding of the child's needs and abilities.
  • Following up on school attendance and academic results before, during, and after placement.
  • Ensuring that schooling is planned and functions during school transfers and relocation.
  • Documenting educational matters in the child's file and ensuring that relevant information reaches concerned parties.
  • Contributing to care plans and implementation plans with a focus on education.

Your qualifications

You who are applying for the position have a completed and approved university degree as a special educator, licensed special teacher, or licensed teacher with extensive experience in the educational field. Furthermore, you have a good understanding of the support process and are used to collaborating with various professionals in student health. You have experience working with children with extensive needs, both academically and socially and psychologically. Naturally, you have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language, in reading, speaking, and writing, as well as good computer skills since documentation is a significant part of your work.

Additionally, you have experience working with special support, additional adjustments, writing action plans, following up and evaluating the student's situation, and assessing whether the student should attend a special education group or receive individual instruction. You have a good understanding of the work of student health and the functions involved. Naturally, you have excellent knowledge of the Swedish language in reading, writing, and speaking, as well as good computer skills since documentation is a significant part of your work.

A valid B driver's license is a requirement for the position.

Welcome to us

The unit for enhanced investigation and support currently consists of five specialized functions that work together to provide children, youth, and their families with enhanced support in vulnerable life situations. The teams consist of experienced social workers and a team leader.

The work is almost exclusively carried out in collaboration with other units and in close cooperation around the child to create security and sustainable solutions. The focus on the child's best interests and safety requires high flexibility and adaptation based on individual needs.

In this recruitment, one (1) permanent full-time position will be filled, with a start date according to agreement. A probationary period may be applied.
